The Nile is deeply-rooted into Nubian culture, with their life, rituals and tales revolving around it.Nubians believe of the existence of Nile inhabitants and they call them “Malayket El Bahr” meaning “Angels of the River”.
 
لا تأذونا و لن نؤذيكم or do us no harm, do you no harm, is an old Nubian prayer dedicated to the Nile inhabitants.Legend has it that the female Nile Inhabitant is spotted the most by locals, reporting she’s huge, nude with long hair and breasts.
 
They respect them but don’t fear them, with rituals like throwing food into the Nile as an offering to them; while addressing them with the prayer.
